T-REX EXPERTS The American Museum of Natural History hosts a “Dinosaur Excavation Station,” where children can dig for fossils, assemble model dinosaurs, and answer trivia about their favorite prehistoric creature. Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., American Museum of Natural History, 79th Street at Central Park West, Arthur Ross Terrace, 212-313-7278, free with admission, $14 general, $10.50 seniors and students, $8 children under 12, free for members.


HANDS ON Socrates Sculpture Park holds its final sculpture workshop for children age 5 and above. At “Fabric Ranch,” children create giant, three-dimensional line drawings using yarn, string, and rope. Saturday, noon-3 p.m., Socrates Sculpture Park, 32-01 Vernon Blvd. at Broadway, Long Island City, Queens, 718-956-1819, free.
