PUMPKIN PEOPLE Families can spend an afternoon in a pumpkin patch designing jack-o’-lanterns and masks. Children can also join in a costume parade and enjoy a scavenger hunt. Costumes are not required – but they are encouraged. ALICE AND APPLES Two European artists read from and sign copies of their children’s books. French artist Anne Bachelier presents her illustrated version of Lewis Carroll’s classics “Alice in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking Glass.” Russian native Gennady Spirin introduces his new picture book “A Apple Pie” (Philomel), a version of the traditional 17th-century English alphabet.
