DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY Children explore Latin American art and culture through a workshop on Guatemalan worry dolls. They discover the clothing, language, and customs of Guatamalan culture and make their own tiny worry dolls to take home. The event is intended for children age 6 and older. BOOKMAKING FOR CHILDREN Nancy Loeber of the Center for Book Arts conducts a workshop in constructing a Japanese stab sown book. Afterward, participants have time to put their own words and drawings in the book. The workshop is for children ages 8 to 13 and their adult companions. CRAFT MONDAY Children can create pins and cushions and weave friendship bracelets celebrating the story of Rosa Parks. The event takes place in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
