TIBETAN TRIO
The third documentary in John Bush’s “Yatra Trilogy,” “Vajra Sky,” makes its world premiere tonight at the Rubin Museum of Art. Filmed in Central Tibet, it includes footage of temples, monasteries, and Buddhist festivals. The soundtrack features Tibetan musicians and chant pieces by composer and singer David Hykes. A reception follows tonight’s opening screening. At the final showing, the entire trilogy will be screened. Opening: Tonight, 7 p.m., $25. Trilogy screening: Sunday, May 8, noon. HOME MOVIE
Jonathan Caouette’s memoir on film, “Tarnation” (2004), screening Fridays at midnight this month in the East Village, is a mishmash of home video, pop songs, and film clips assembled on the cheap using Apple’s iMovie software. Fridays through April 29, midnight, Two Boots Pioneer Theater, 155 E. 3rd St., between avenues A and B, 212-591-0434, $9 general, $6.50 members.
