ASIAN SCREENS
Two Asian-film festivals open this weekend, one at Manhattan and one at Brooklyn. The ImaginAsian theater’s series kicks off with the Indian melodrama “Hyderabad Blues 2” (2004), the sequel to a popular romance. In the follow-up, the young couple has married and must decide if having children will dampen their passion (Friday, 7 p.m. Festival: Friday through Thursday, 7 p.m., ImaginAsian, 239 E. 59th St., between Second and Third avenues, 212-371-6682, $10). At the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the three-day “Asian Cinevision” festival includes “Long Life, Happiness, and Prosperity” (2002), which stars Sandra Oh (“Sideways”) as a single mother in Vancouver’s Cantonese community (Saturday, 4:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Festival: Friday through Sunday, times vary, BAM Rose Cinemas, 30 Lafayette Ave., between Ashland Place and St. Felix Street, Brooklyn, 718-636-4100, $10 general, $7 seniors, students, and children under 12, $6 members).
REEL LIFE
Steven Soderbergh’s first feature film, “Sex, Lies, and Videotape” (1989), is screened in “Candid Cameras,” a series of documentaries, features, reality televison shows, and webcam footage.
