INDIE ROCK Rockefeller Center has been transformed into a temporary outdoor movie theater with a 30- by 50-inch screen for a series of independentmovie screenings this week. Upcoming: “The Baxter” (tonight), “All We Are Saying” (tomorrow), and “Show Business” (Friday). All screenings: 6 p.m. seating opens, 9 p.m. screenings, Channel Gardens of Rockefeller Center, between 49th and 50th streets, off Fifth Avenue, free.


NORDIC NIGHT Arne Skouen’s “Kalde Spor” (“Cold Tracks”) (1962), the next film screened in a series of Norwegian cinema classics, tells the story of a former Resistance leader trying to forget his past. Tonight, 6:30 p.m., Scandinavia House, 58 Park Ave., between 37th and 38th streets, 212-847-9746, $8 general, $6 members. Note: The film is in Norwegian with English subtitles.


TO CATCH A THIEF Alfred Hitchcock’s psychological thriller “Marnie” (1964) is screened as part of the ongoing series Repertory Nights. Tippi Hedren, who the year before the film’s release had been chased by “The Birds,” stars as a gorgeous kleptomaniac. A young and dashing Sean Connery plays the husband who may not be able to tame her. The film ends in a marathon of Freudian analysis. Saturday and Sunday, 6:30 p.m., Museum of the Moving Image, 35th Avenue at 36th Street, Astoria, Queens, 718-784-0077, $10 general, $7.50 seniors and students, free for members.
