POLITICS & ROMANCE Sydney Pollack’s “The Way We Were,” starring Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford as a couple whose political views tear them apart, kicks off the HBO/Bryant Park Summer Film Festival. The movies are screened on Mondays at dusk. Tonight, Bryant Park, Sixth Avenue and 42nd Street, 212-512-5700, free. Series runs through August 22.
GODZILLA, ETC. “Godzilla Final Wars” and “Princess Raccoon” are highlights of the 2005 New York Asian Film Festival. The 31 movies, many of which have never been screened in North America, come from a variety of Asian countries, from Japan to India.
