GREAT SCOTT The Young Friends of Film at Lincoln Center honor the actor and director Campbell Scott.Mr. Scott’s new film, “The Dying Gaul,” is screened, and a black-tie event follows. NORDIC NIGHT Nils Gaup’s “Ofelas/Veiviseren” (“Pathfinder”) (1987), the next film screened in a series of Norwegian cinema classics, was the first film to be made in the Sami language. Set against frozen landcapes, it recreates a 12thcentury legend about a boy forced to act as guide for a gang of Tchides marauders who have killed his family. NAUGHTY SHORTS The “most vile, shocking, and offensive material” from the 5-year history of the Arlene’s Grocery Picture Show is screened. The taboo-busting evening offers short films that have been banned from other film festivals.
