WOOING ROXANNE Gerard Depardieu stars in Jean-Paul Rappeneau’s “Cyrano de Bergerac” (1990), a period comedy about a swordsman whose poetry is more alluring than his looks. It is screened as part of the French Institute/Alliance Francaise’s tribute to Mr. Depardieu. CHILDREN ON SCREEN “Children in the 20th Century,” a double feature series, showcases international directors that address issues facing children, such as abuse, homelessness, poverty, and abandonment. Up next: Hirokazu Koreeda’s “Nobody Knows” (2004), the heartbreaking story of four children left alone by their mother in a Tokyo apartment. It is screened with Theo Angelopoulos’s “Landscape in the Mist” (1988), about two Greek children who travel to Germany in search of their father (8:45 p.m.). SECRET SCREENING Wolfgang Hamm’s documentary, “Secrets of Khoomei: Voices of Tuva,” about Siberia’s cultural revival after the collapse of the Soviet Union, is screened for the first time in America.
