GOOD OLD WEST “Give Thanks to John Ford,” a series presented by BAMcinématek, features four classic films about the Old West. The series begins with a screening of “The Searchers” (1956), about a Confederate soldier who spends five years searching for his niece, who was kidnapped by Native Americans. The film features John Wayne. Author Jonathan Lethem introduces the 6:50 p.m. screening. Tonight, 4:30, 6:50, and 9:40 p.m., BAM Rose Cinemas, 30 Lafayette Ave., between St. Felix Street and Ashland Place, Brooklyn, 718-636-4100, $10 general, $7 students and seniors, free for children and members.
