SAMPLING SWEETS NYC Discovery Walking Tours presents a Greenwich Village “history and dessert” tour. Besides learning about historical sites such as the Jefferson Courthouse Library and Minetta Lane, the tour makes time for sampling desserts, from Lilac chocolate to Italian saviordi. Saturday and Sunday, 2:30 p.m., 212-465-3331 for meeting place and reservations, $19 includes food.
CRAB CRUNCH Christopher Letts and Tom Lake of the Hudson River Foundation provide demonstrations on how to steam blue crabs, as well as how to crack them open and eat them, as part of the River Project’s sixth annual Crab Crunch.The event also includes complimentary boat rides on the retired police launch Big G. Saturday, 3–6 p.m., Pier 26, Hudson River between Chambers and Canal streets, 212-233-3030, free samples provided.
