COOL COCKTAILS The cocktail editors at Hamptons magazine, Jared Brown and Anistatia Miller, present a mixology seminar, “Mad Dogs & Englishmen: Cool Cocktails for the Dog Days of Summer.” Patrons learn the history of and how to make the mojito, the daiquiri, the Pimm’s cup, and other summery sips. The Museum of the American Cocktail sponsors the event. Tonight, 5:30-7 p.m., Ruth’s Chris Steak House, 148 W. 51st St., second floor, 212-245-9600, $35 in advance, $40 at the door. ROLL ON UP Katen Sushi Bar kicks off its “Sushi Making, Sake Tasting” series with head sushi chef Richard Fong. Participants receive hands-on instruction on creating favorites such California rolls, rainbow rolls, and dragon rolls, while sake importers provide pairing tips and serving suggestions.
