CHINESE FOOD The author of “Food Culture in China” (Greenwood Press), Jacqueline Newman, discusses the wide variety of foods in China. The event, which is co-sponsored with the Museum of Chinese in the Americas, also includes a tasting. SLOW APPLES Slow Food NYC presents the third annual Apple Week, with the goal of drawing attention to regional apple varieties like the Newtown Pippin, which is in danger of disappearing.
