OH, JIMMY “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” features actors performing the classic holiday tale in the style of a 1940s radio play, complete with sound effects and multiple characters. The play is directed by John Long and actors include Joe Gambino and Veronica Shea. Tonight, 7:30 p.m., St. Bartholomew’s Church, 109 E. 50th St. at Park Avenue, 212-378-0248, $15.

DECK THE HALLS IN HARLEM A long tradition in the Harlem community, the 30th anniversary of the annual community tree lighting ceremony, is celebrated with a festive outdoor concert. A weatherman for the local FOX-5 TV affiliate WNYW, Mike Woods, is host of the event. Featured performers include soul singer Jeremiah, a gospel artist, Byron Cage, and the IMPACT Repertory Theatre. Tomorrow, 5:30 p.m., Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building plaza, 163 W. 125th St., between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. and Malcolm X boulevards, free.

JAZZY CHANUKAH CONCERT The Center for Religious Inquiry at St. Bartholomew’s Church and the Consul General of Israel present a Chanukah concert featuring the Avishai Cohen Group. A jazz trumpeter, Mr. Cohen leads an ensemble of Israeli musicians who perform traditional jazz, African, and Israeli music. Featured performers include the Church’s Boy & Girl Choristers. Tomorrow, 7:30 p.m., St. Bartholomew’s Church, 109 E. 50th St. at Park Avenue, 212-378-0222, free.

A CAROL ON THE RADIO Strand Bookstore and classical music station WQXR present a reading of the Charles Dickens story “A Christmas Carol.” Radio announcers Jeff Spurgeon, Annie Bergen, and Elliott Forrest are among featured readers. Wine and cookies are served and a holiday raffle is also featured. Saturday, 3 p.m., Strand Bookstore, 828 Broadway at 12th Street, 212-473-1452, free.
