Brooklyn College produces Brecht and Weill’s “The Threepenny Opera,” with actors, singers, and musicians from the school’s music and theater programs. Tonight through Sunday, May 15, tonight, 7:30 p.m., Fridays, 8 p.m., Saturdays, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., Sundays, 2 p.m., Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College, George Gershwin Theater, 2900 Bedford Ave. at Campus Road, Brooklyn, 718-951-4500, $15 general, $10 seniors, $5 students.


GOODBYE, GATE


The seventh season of the “Lost Jazz Shrines” series pays tribute to the shuttered Village Gate’s role in showcasing jazz greats. Pianist and composer Randy Weston performs the first concert, a recital of original works for solo piano and piano trio music. Before the performance, Mr. Weston is interviewed about his work and travels (7 p.m.). HEART SONGS


Soprano Renee Fleming and jazz pianist Fred Hersch perform at a benefit for Joe’s Pub’s spring programming. Ms. Fleming performs songs from her upcoming album “Haunted Heart.” A dessert reception with the performers follows.
