TWO SEASONS The Festival Chamber Orchestra presents a program of music by Vivaldi (“Spring” and “Summer” from “Four Seasons”), Albinoni (“Concerto for two oboes”), and Pergolesi (“Sabat mater”). Swedish soprano Ulla Westlund makes her American debut at the concert, which kicks off the 47th season of the Washington Square Music Festival. VIVE LA FRANCE The Shanghai String Quartet and soprano Camellia Johnson present “Salute to France,” a celebration of Franco-American friendship. The program consists of music by Ravel, Beethoven (who was influenced by the French Revolution), Duparc, and Debussy. CROSS-CONTINENTAL HIP-HOP The sole pop event at this year’s Lincoln Center Festival, “Africa <- > America,” is a celebration of the links between the two continents’ hip-hop music scenes. Wyclef Jean performs and serves as host to a program that includes the Senegalese hip-hop group Daara J and the Paris-based DJ Nasso. Thursday, 8 p.m., Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall, 65th Street and Broadway, 212-721-6500, $25 and $45.
CITY COMPOSERS The Brooklyn Philharmonic presents a program of works by Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Offenbach, and Gershwin, all composers who influenced or were influenced by music in New York. The featured violinist is Tai Murray, who performs under the baton of guest conductor Chelsea Tipton.
