WARD’S WORDS Moony crooner M. Ward performs his folk-blues blend at a free concert that’s part of the Music at Castle Clinton series. Tonight, 5 p.m. tickets distributed, 7 p.m. concert, Castle Clinton, National Monument in Battery Park, free.


TERRITORIAL TUNES Steven Bernstein’s Millennial Territory Orchestra performs tunes inspired by the jazz bands of the 1920s and 1930s. Tonight, 10 p.m., Tonic, 107 Norfolk St., between Delancey and Rivington streets, 212-358-7501, $12.


YOUNG PRELUDE The Martina Arroyo Foundation kicks off its new young-artist series, Prelude to Performance, with an evening of opera. The program is conducted by Willie Anthony Waters. Upcoming in the series is a performance of Mozart’s evergreen “The Marriage of Figaro” (Saturday, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2:30 p.m.). Tomorrow, 7:30 p.m., Dicapo Opera Theater, 184 E. 76th St., between Lexington and Third avenues, 347-677-3854, $20 general, $10 students.


THEIR TURN A group of understudies gather to perform songs from the Broadway shows they (occasionally) star in. The program includes Rosena Hill (the Lady of the Lake in “Spamalot”), Laura Marie Duncan (Christina Colgate in “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”), Julie Barnes (Truly Scrumptious in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”), David Burnham (“The Light in the Piazza”), and several substitute cast members from “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” Monday, 8 p.m., Ars Nova Theater, 511 W. 54th St., between Tenth and Eleventh avenues, 212-868-4444, $15.
