LATIN BEAT Argentinian singer Coral and Venezuelan folk-rocker Miguel Oldenburg are the next performers in the outdoor concert series hosted by El Museo del Barrio (tonight). Future concerts include performances by the Cuban Cowboys (August 18), several reggae bands (August 25), and Los Reyes Del Bajo Mundo and Inti (September 1). BRAZILIAN BEAT Scott Kettner’s Nation Beat performs traditional Maracatu rhythms mixed with modern jazz, funk, and rock. Maracatu, a dynamic rhythm from northeastern Brazil, combines deep bass tones on alfaia drums, snare drums, and gongue, or double bells. Tonight, 8:30 p.m., Cornelia Street Cafe, 29 Cornelia St., between West 4th and Bleecker streets, 212-989-9319, $10.


OPERA BUFFS The New York City Opera presents lunchtime concerts in Bryant Park as part of its Afternoon Arias series. The first installment includes pieces from Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” and Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” (tomorrow). The second show highlights Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” and Puccini’s “La Boheme” (August 19), and the final installment reprises arias from “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” “Madama Butterfly,” and “La Boheme” (August 26). Fridays, 12:30 p.m., Bryant Park, between Fifth and Sixth avenues and 40th and 42nd streets, free.
