CITY FOLK An acoustic concert by singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega kicks off the City Folk Live at Zankel contemporary folk series. Tonight, 8:30 p.m., Carnegie Hall, Zankel Hall, 57th Street and Seventh Avenue, 212-247-7800, $32 and $38.


FOR LOUISIANA Trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, soprano Audra McDonald, singer-songwriter Randy Newman, and violinist Itzhak Perlman headline “Bringing Back the Music,” a benefit concert for the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. The conductors from the Louisiana orchestra and the New York Philharmonic will perform side by side during the show. Tomorrow, 8 p.m., Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall, 10 Lincoln Center Plaza, Broadway at 65th Street, 212-875-5656, $25, $50, and $75.
