FAROE WAY The Faroe Islands lie between Iceland and Norway, and among its small population of 50,000 there are 2,030 choirs. One of them, the Faroe Islands Chamber Choir, performs traditional Faroese and Scandinavian choral classics. EASTER SOUNDS Artek, the early music ensemble in residence at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, performs selections from Carl Heinrich Graun’s “Der Tod Jesu,” one of the most popular Passion music pieces in Germany during the 18th and 19th centuries.
