VILLAGE CREATIONS The Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit presents work by professional and amateur artists who use traditional and non-traditional media such as leather, jewelry, and fabrics. Saturday through Monday, noon-7 p.m., around the periphery of Washington Square Park at University Place between 11th and 3rd streets, 212-982-6255, free.
WALKING ON AIR For her public art project “Time Translations,” Nell Breyer placed cameras along the World Financial Center’s southern pedestrian bridge that videotape the movements of passers-by. The live footage is processed by computers and projected as drawings on the side of the bridge. “Think of it as a representation of a ‘moving average’ of people over the bridge,” Ms. Breyer has said. “‘Time Translations’ represents time and space just as the Dow Jones represents the stock market today and historically at the same time.” Through Friday, September 30, daily, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., World Financial Center pedestrian bridge at Liberty Street, 212-945-0505, free.
