QUESTIONS AND GEOLOGY The nonprofit book publisher J&L, which makes selections “with attention paid not to salability, but to original and independent voices,” celebrates the release of two new titles with a cocktail party. Octavian Esanu’s “What Does ‘Why’ Mean?” which was first published in Germany in 2002, uses snippets from hundreds of writings by artists and art critics edited to make a new text. “Drawings on Geology” is a collection of drawings by many artists based on a concept by Serge Onnen.
