VERSES ON STAGE The Academy of American Poets awards seven poets with various accolades during the organization’s annual gala ceremony and reading. Poets include John DuVal, Michael Palmer, and Anne Pierson Wiese. Readers include Willis Barnstone, Fanny Howe, and Michael Palma. READING FOR GODOT The New School presents “Samuel Beckett’s Poetry and the Poetry He Loved: A Birthday Celebration,” a reading in honor of the Irish playwright. Featured guests include authors Mary Karr, Fanny Howe, and Eamon Grennan. Tomorrow, 7:30 p.m., the New School, Tishman Auditorium, 66 W. 12th St., between Fifth and Sixth avenues, 212-686-5005, $10 general, $7 members of the Poetry Society of America.
