ON CRUDE CARTOONS The publisher and editorial director of the Nation, Victor Navasky, joins political cartoonist David Levine for a discussion on ethics in political cartooning. Mr. Navasky’s new book “A Matter of Opinion” (Farrar, Straus & Giroux) is an account of the political magazine’s ups and downs during his 25-year tenure. Tonight, 6:30 p.m., the Strand, 828 Broadway at 12th Street, 212-473-1452, free.
