WESTERN ANTI-SEMITISM The YIVO Institute for Jewish Research presents a discussion, reception, and book-signing party for “Old Demons, New Debates: Anti-Semitism in the West” (Holmes & Meier/YIVO). The panel includes the book’s editor, Brown University professor David Kertzer,who argues that the left and the growing Arab immigrant population in Europe have replaced the right wing as the most worrisome source of anti-Jewish behavior. EMINENT DOMAIN The Municipal Art Society Planning Center kicks off its fall forum series with “Is Eminent Domain Necessary for Neighborhood Redevelopment? Case Study: Manhattanville.” The director of the Center for an Urban Future, Jonathan Bowles, moderates. Panelists at the breakfast discussion include academics, business leaders, and community leaders.
