CELEBRATE SCOTLAND Tartan Week kicks off this weekend, turning the city into a Scottish paradise. Anthology Film Archives offers a week of free film screenings on Scottish themes, including “Chariots of Fire” (Sunday, 1 p.m.) and “Trainspotting” (Tuesday, 8 p.m.). Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall is the home base: VisitScotland presents a slew of Scottish-themed events, including cooking presentations by Joe Queen of MacDonald Hotels and discussions about Scottish whiskeys and distilleries. Musical events include performances by the Peatboy Faeries and the Finlay MacDonald Band, along with presentations by various Gaelic singers and bagpipers. Kilts are on display, and visitors have the chance of winning a weeklong vacation in a Scottish castle. Sunday through Saturday, April 8, times and locations vary.
