FITZGERALD IN LOVE Peter Mills’s new musical “The Pursuit of Persephone” inserts F. Scott Fitzgerald into the plot of his first novel, “This Side of Paradise.” Cara Reichel, who co-wrote the show, directs the Prospect Theater Company production. GRIM GRINDSTONE Charlotte Meehan’s “Work” paints a dispiriting portrait of life as a cubicle-bound employee of a major corporation. The artistic director of the Flea Theater, Jim Simpson, directs the New York premiere production. WORLD TRAVELS A new production of David Lindsay-Abaire’s comedy “Wonder of the World” marks the Phoenix Players’ 20th anniversary in Queens. The protagonist is a woman on the run who meets a series of oddball characters during a journey to Niagara Falls. The company’s artistic director, Robert Combe, shares directorial duties with Ben Fabrizi.
