BURIED TREASURE Sam Shepard’s “Buried Child,” which won the 1979 Pulitzer Prize, is produced by the White Horse Theater Company. Set in rural Illinois farm country, it follows a repressed family whose calm is shattered by the arrival of two estranged relatives. Cyndy Marion directs. BOYS, GIRLS & THE BARD The Shakespeare Society presents “Boys Will Be Girls,” a performance and discussion that examines cross-dressing and sexual role-playing in Shakespeare. The evening will feature Best Actor Oscar nominee David Strathairn (“Good Night, and Good Luck”), Tony Award-winner Jefferson Mays (“I Am My Own Wife”), and Broadway actor Michael Cumpsty. REMIND ME AGAIN The new musical “I Love You Because” follows a greeting card writer, played by Colin Hanlon, who must navigate the New York dating scene after his longtime girlfriend cheats on him. The show, which is currently in previews, is billed as “a gender-reversed modern day musical retelling” of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice.” Ryan Cunningham wrote the book and lyrics, and Joshua Salzman wrote the music. Daniel Kutner directs.
