On Dean Street in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, stands a tiny bakery with even tinier cookies: One Girl Cookies. The shop offers some of the most delicate, delicious cookies in New York. Opened by the husband-wife team of David Crofton and Dawn Kasale, One Girl began as a catering business in the West Village and Chelsea. When Ms. Kasale and Mr. Crofton decided to relocate closer to their home in Brooklyn, so went the cookies – every item in the bakery, which will include cupcakes in the near future, is made on the premises. One Girl offers two “collections” of cookies (Classic and Chocolate) and one of biscotti. All the cookies are identified with girls names. By far the most popular cookie sold is the Lucia, a three-layered cookie featuring a shortbread base, a layer of rich caramel, and a topping of chocolate. The size of the Lucia makes it perfect for guilt-free snacking – and the combination of chocolate and caramel will have you swooning all day long. 172 2153 264 2164
