OLD PRICES, NEW DESIGN
Cheaper-than-usual hamburgers are available for the rest of the week at the McDonald’s at 2726 Broadway (between 104th and 105th streets). At that particular location, you can get 39-cent cheeseburgers and 29-cent hamburgers through Sunday. That unit also is holding daily raffles for iPods, cameras, and other goodies.
It is all part of the burger chain’s first major redesign in 30 years, which features less plastic, softer lighting, more wood and brick, and a higher ceiling. Wireless Internet connectivity is available, too.
MUSIC & BURGERS
More high-tech goings-on are happening at the third location of the American Burger Company, in Hicksville, N.Y. (290 W Old Country Road at Underhill Avenue, 516-939-2200), which just opened. There, iPod jukeboxes at every booth allow patrons to listen to and watch whatever they have on their own MP3 players.
MORE CHIPOTLE
Elsewhere on the fast food front, another Chipotle is opening on Friday, this one next to the Empire State building (350 Fifth Ave. at 34th Street, 212-695-0412). If you come tomorrow between 5 p.m and 8 p.m., $5 will get you a meal with a soda, and all of the proceeds will benefit City Year. The organization recruits young people to spend 10 months working in community service, mostly in elementary schools.

TURKISH DELIGHT
Comfortzone Café Lounge, a Turkish restaurant in Park Slope (289 Fifth Ave., between 1st and 2nd streets, Brooklyn, 718-965-6401), has a full liquor license now and it hopes to start using it this weekend. Management is working on building a bar in the restaurant and the bartenders are developing cocktails.
CHILI TO GO
Manhattan Chili Co. is open again, after a year’s absence downstairs at the Grand Central Terminal Dining Concourse (212-682-6644). A new twist: They will deliver hot dogs and chili to commuters at the track entrance of their trains.
SUSHI SET
Sushi of Gari is coming downtown for its third unit. It already has locations featuring sushi and signature blended sakes on the Upper East and Upper West Sides, but this week it is opening Sushi of Gari 46 in the theater district (347 West 46th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues 212-957-0046). The owners say they hope to open their doors on Thursday or Friday night.
