Many Americans make Thanksgiving plans weeks or even months in advance, but New York’s restaurateurs are ready for those who have waited until the last minute. The restaurants below had space available at press time.
Aix Brasserie (2398 Broadway at 88th Street, 212-874-7400) is offering roasted organic turkey — sliced breast and boneless marinated drumstick — with sweet potatoes à l’orange, cranberry-citrus compote, “stuffing bourgeoisie,” and herb jus.
Blue Water Grill (31 Union Sq. W. at 16th Street, 212-675-9500) is serving an à la carte menu that includes herb butter slow-roasted turkey with a stuffing containing sage, caramelized onion, and three types of mushrooms.
Centro Vinoteca (74 Seventh Ave. S. at Barrow Street, 212-367-7470) is brining its turkey and serving it crusted in herbs with polenta cornbread, sausage and chestnut stuffing, roasted cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, roasted cheese, pumpkin with caramelized onions, and brown sugar mashed Yukon Gold potatoes.
At Cercle Rouge (241 W. Broadway at North Moore Street, 212-226-6252), the roasted organic turkey will be dished up with foie gras, pear and chestnut stuffing, pumpkin, apple and potato gratin, fricassée of vegetables, cranberry chutney, and pan jus.
The turkey at Fleur de Sel (5 E. 20th St., between Broadway and Fifth Avenue, 212-460-9100) is organic and will come with cornbread-chestnut stuffing, potato gratin, and cranberries.
On the menu at Louie’s Westside Cafe (441 Amsterdam Ave., at 81st Street, 212-877-1900) is roasted turkey with walnut apple stuffing, butternut squash, green beans, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and gravy.
Morandi (211 Waverly Pl. at Seventh Avenue South, 212-627-7575) is serving turkey “with all the fixings,” along with an appetizer and dessert, for $55.
Osteria del Circo’s (120 W. 55th St., between Sixth and Seventh avenues, 212-265-3636) turkey entrée is a boneless breast with stuffing, sweet potato purée, green beans, cranberry sauce, and gravy.
Sapa (43 W. 24th St., between Broadway and Sixth Avenue, 212-929-1800) is taking orders for dinner to go (for $55 per person), or to eat in the restaurant. The turkey is a roasted smoked breast with apricots, a walnut stuffed thigh, and turkey jus.
Savoy (70 Prince St. at Crosby Street, 212-219-8570) is serving a heritage breed turkey with wild mushroom stuffing, creamed spinach, and cranberry relish.
If turkey is not your thing and you feel like dining in Long Island City, Island Restaurant and Lounge (35–15 36th St., between 35th and 36th avenues, 718-433-0690) is offering short ribs with parsnip purée, dates, and Asian mixed vegetables as its Thanksgiving entrée.
Sushi Samba locations (245 Park Ave. S. between 19th and 20th streets, 212-475-9377, and 87 Seventh Ave. S. at Barrow Street, 212-691-7885) are offering their regular menus, with the added choice of crispy whole free-range poussin with linguiça sausage, cornbread stuffing, collard greens, farofa, and sweet potato purée.
