A Kofi Annan aide denies that the former secretary general has bought a
house in Tangiers. In an unsigned e-mail, an aide in his Geneva office
wrote, “Mr. Annan has not bought a house in Tangiers.” The e-mail,
responding to a question sent Tuesday afternoon, arrived Thursday morning,
after the Sun ran a story on the purchase. “Mr. Annan was in Morocco last
weekend to deliver a speech at the Assilah Foundation near Tangiers,”
according to the e-mail.
