An underground accident at R&D Coal Co.’s anthracite mine in eastern Pennsylvania killed one miner yesterday, the state Department of Environmental Protection said. The mine in Tremont Township, Schuylkill County, was cleared, and no miners remain underground, a spokesman for the department, Kurt Knaus, said.
