A man has been charged with multiple counts of rape and assault after police arrested him for a home invasion of an occupied Brooklyn apartment, police officials said yesterday.
The man, Justin Harris, 24, is accused of entering an apartment near Sterling Place in August with two accomplices, and robbing its nine occupants at gunpoint. Mr. Harris and the two others allegedly restrained the six boys and men in the apartment, who ranged in age from five to 41, using duct tape. The suspects then took the three women who were there at the time into another room where they raped and sexually assaulted them.
Police said that they had recovered three guns upon arresting Mr. Harris, who lives in the area.
