Comptroller Accuses Schools of Misspending

The city comptroller, William Thompson, ramped up his attacks on the Department of Education yesterday in an audit accusing the department of mishandling universal pre-kindergarten funding.
The audit accuses the department of inappropriately paying six schools $785,000.
Deputy Chancellor Kathleen Grimm dismissed the audit.
