Driver Flees Expressway After Asbestos Truck Is Overturned

A truck carrying asbestos has overturned on an expressway in Queens. Police say the truck hit a divider on the Clearview Expressway yesterday afternoon before flipping over. Investigators say the truck’s driver fled on foot. Northbound lanes near the Long Island Expressway are closed as workers clean the area. It’s not known why the truck struck the median. No injuries have been reported.
