Five Indicted In ID Thefts Targeting Kraft

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office indicted five people yesterday in an identity theft ring in which the defendants allegedly robbed the identities of about 600 employees of Kraft Foods.
A former employee of Kraft, Monique Clark, obtained the identities of the victims, and collaborated with four other defendants to create fake identifications that were used to open credit card accounts at Costco stores throughout the United States, the Manhattan district attorney’s office said.
The defendants bought about $200,000 worth of merchandise, such as plasma televisions and jewelry that they resold on black markets, the office said.
The defendants face a maximum sentence of 15 years each for grand larceny, the office said.
