A former investor in Bruce Ratner’s Nets basketball project in Brooklyn has filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court seeking almost $27.5 million. The suit alleges that Mr. Ratner recruited the investor, Eugene Greene, to help raise money for the project, promising him a spot on the team’s board of governors, then “in a bizarre and sudden change of events,” excluded Mr. Greene. Mr. Greene claims he hasn’t been compensated for the efforts he expended raising about $30 million.

Mr. Greene’s $6 million personal investment was returned by Mr. Ratner’s company, his attorney, Jonathan Sack, said.

A spokesman for Forest City Ratner Companies, Loren Riegelhaupt, said the company is reviewing the suit.
