Gunman Fires Upon Group of Teenagers

Police are searching for a suspect who shot at a crowd of teenage girls yesterday in the Bronx, striking a victim in the ankle, police officials said.
The suspect drove up to the group of girls, who were gathered on a building stoop at 20-20 Pitman Ave. in the Eastchester section of the Bronx. After a brief exchange of words, the suspect opened fire, police said.
The suspect fled the scene in a white 2006 Dodge Magnum, police said.
The victim, who was not identified, was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.
