BUFFALO — Lieutenant Governor David Paterson was taken to a Buffalo hospital after fainting on a flight from New York City to Buffalo early Tuesday.

Mr. Paterson, 53, was sitting with Governor Spitzer when the governor noticed him nodding and apparently faint about half way through the 6 a.m. USAir flight, a Spitzer spokeswoman, Christine Anderson, said.

He fainted briefly, was given a soda by a flight attendant and then oxygen by paramedics who brought Mr. Paterson to the Erie County Medical Center.
