Police are looking for a suspect in seven bank robberies and another attempt in less than a month on the Upper East and West sides. The last two heists occurred only a couple of hours apart last Wednesday, police sources said.

The suspect approached tellers and in most cases handed them notes listing his demands and brandished or threatened to use a gun, police said.

On September 21, police said the suspect entered Commerce Bank at 1504 Third Ave., passed a note, and said he had a gun. He fled with more than $2,000.

The next day, the suspect followed the same modus operandi at another Commerce Bank, at 2109 Broadway. He left with between $2,000 and $2,500.

Two days later, the suspect managed to exit the North Fork branch at 300 E. 79th St. with $4,240.

On September 30, the robber passed a demand note and flashed a handgun inside a Chase branch at 201 E. 79th St. This time, the suspect garnered only $200 from a bank employee.

Last Monday, police said the suspect robbed a Washington Mutual at 1191 Third Ave. at 69th Street. He walked out with $4,500.

The next day, he hit the North Fork at 1180 Third Ave. The amount of cash he took was not immediately clear.

On Wednesday, the man used a note and flashed a firearm at an HSBC at 1002 Madison Ave. A bank employee handed the suspect $1,375.

About two hours later, the suspect left empty-handed after hitting a Banco Popular at 90 W. 96th St.
