A man who went on a stabbing spree that left his wife dead and his 7-year-old daughter injured was awaiting arraignment on murder charges last night in criminal court in Queens, officials said. Police had already decided to charge Balbir Singh, 34, with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly stabbing his wife, Bubita Rani, 29, to death and injuring his daughter in a fit of rage on Sunday night, officials said. The daughter, who was not identified, was stabbed in the left arm while attempting to aid her mother, who investigators believe was attacked at about 9 p.m., officials said.
