Rodent Control Program To Launch in the Bronx

What do you get when you cross a computer, a mouse, and a “hot spot?” No, not a cybercafe.
In this instance, you get something called an Enhanced Rodent Control Program.
The New York City Health Department says its rat inspectors will now fan out through Bronx neighborhoods, using handheld computers to catalog rodent “hot spots.”
When they find them, they’ll start exterminating, require property owners to remedy rodent-friendly environments, and repeat inspections until the problem is resolved.
If the Bronx pilot program is successful, it could be used throughout the city.
