A son stabbed and killed his father after a family argument that broke out last night in Midtown Manhattan, police officials said.

The father, 64, and son, 37, whom police did not identify, were arguing in their sports-utility-vehicle parked on 37th Street between 5th and 6th avenues when at 6:25 p.m. the son pulled out a knife and stabbed his father in the stomach, police said.

An ambulance arrived at the scene and rushed the victim to St. Vincent’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 6:45 p.m., police said.

Police brought the suspect to the Midtown South Precinct where he was questioned. Additional details of the murder weren’t clear as of last night because of communication difficulties with the suspect, who only speaks Mandarin, police said.

The father and son were living in the Flushing section of Queens, police said.
