A prominent state judge in Queens is leaving the bench early in his term of office to take a top job under Attorney General Cuomo. The judge, Leslie Leach, will lead the attorney general’s litigation department, according to a statement from Mr. Cuomo’s office. Most recently, Mr. Leach served as the administrative judge for state Supreme Court in Queens. He first became a judge in 1993 when Mayor Dinkins appointed him to the city’s criminal court.
