A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in a shooting spree near a popular park in Harlem that left six people wounded.

Police said Kahree Frye faces six counts of attempted murder in the Memorial Day shooting near Marcus Garvey Park.

His mother, Darlene Frye, said he is a good student and is being scapegoated as revenge for a year-old rivalry with another teenager. She said her son is “not a monster.”

A 15-year-old boy who police said ran from officers and threw a .380-caliber pistol under a parked car during the chaos that erupted after the shooting was also arrested.

He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, but is not charged with direct involvement in the shootings.
