A teenager accused of killing a man in Brooklyn because he was gay was indicted yesterday.
Prosecutors say the defendant, Omar Willock, 17, stabbed Roberto Duncanson, 20, after passing him on St. Marks Avenue in the Crown Heights neighborhood. Mr. Willock allegedly yelled anti-gay remarks at Duncanson, who walked away. After Duncanson passed Mr. Willock again, the two engaged in a fistfight. Mr. Willock stabbed Duncanson four times, prosecutors say.
He died an hour later at the hospital.
Mr. Willock is charged with second-degree murder and second-degree murder as a hate crime. An attorney for Mr. Willock, Benjamin Heinrich, declined to comment on the case.
