Two Killed by Stabbing and Gunfire, Police Say

Two people were killed, and six others were injured in two separate incidents yesterday in the Bronx and Brooklyn, police said. In the first, occurring around 5:20 a.m., police said a fight broke out at a party on Elton Avenue in East New York. When they arrived, a 24-year-old man had been stabbed to death, and three others were taken to Brookdale Hospital with stab wounds. There were no arrests last night, police said.
In the second incident, occurring around 7:30 a.m., police responded to an apartment on Bruner Avenue in Eastchester, where they discovered a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head.
Three others had been shot and injured during the altercation, including a 21-year-old man who was taken to Montefiore Hospital and two others who were treated at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, police said. There were no arrests last night.
