An out-of-control sport utility vehicle spun onto a Brooklyn sidewalk yesterday killing a woman and injuring a man, police officials said.
The driver, an unidentified 46-year-old woman, turned left onto the commercial row of 86th Street in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn at about 1:00 p.m. and began driving along the sidewalk, police said.
She struck an unidentified male, who sustained injuries, before barreling into Lyudmila Piyavskaya, 53, and pinning her to the storefront of a bakery at 518 86th St., police and witnesses said.
Piyavskaya was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver and the other victim were rushed to Lutheran Medical Center and are in stable condition, police said.
