‘300%’
I would argue that 300% return in three years represents a bubble developing and is nowhere near a good thing [Editorial, “300%” May 1, 2007]. It is simply not sustainable. And if it is, there will be no middle class left.

‘They’ll Take Manhattan’
Thank you for your coverage of the Manhattan Institute’s Award Dinner [Out & About, “They’ll Take Manhattan,” May 10, 2007]. So many smiling faces among the rich and powerful can only trickle down to glad tidings for the great unwashed rank and file who do the work of this city and aspire to achieve at least a tenacious hold on a middle class lifestyle that is so elusive, (deliciously so, to the M.I.) to those ragtag unionists. By the way, did Rupert eat cake?
